בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם

Barukh Atah Adonai Eloheinu Melekh ha’olam

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe

הַמַּעֲרִיב עֲרָבִים

Ha’maʿariv aravim

Who brings on the evenings

בְּחָכְמָה פּוֹתֵחַ שְׁעָרִים

B’chochmah pote’ach she’arim

With wisdom You open the gates

וּבִתְבוּנָה מְשַׁנֶּה עִתִּים

U’vit’vunah m’shaneh ittim

And with understanding You change the times

וּמַחֲלִיף אֶת הַזְּמַנִּים

U’machlif et ha’zmanim

And vary the seasons

וּמְסַדֵּר אֶת הַכּוֹכָבִים בְּמִשְׁמְרוֹתֵיהֶם

U’m’sadeir et ha’kokhavim b’mishm’roteihem

You arrange the stars in their watches

בָּרָקִיעַ כִּרְצוֹנוֹ

Ba’rakia kirtzono

In the sky according to His will

Shema Yisrael, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad

Hear, O Israel: YHWH is our Elohim, YHWH is One

בָּרוּךְ שֵׁם כְּבוֹד מַלְכוּתוֹ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד

Barukh shem k’vod malkhuto le’olam va’ed

Blessed be the Name of His glorious Kingdom forever and ever

YHWH, You are our Keeper as the sun sets.

Forgive the sins of this day and purify our hearts.

Grant healing to the sick, rest to the weary, and peace to all who seek You.

Be a shield about Your people and a light in the darkness.

Let Your Name be sanctified and Your Kingdom come.

As we lie down to rest, may Your Ruach sustain us.

Raise us up in the morning to serve You with joy.

Amen.

🛡 Psalm 121 – A Psalm of Trust at Night

אֶשָּׂא עֵינַי אֶל הֶהָרִים

Esa einai el he’harim

I lift up my eyes to the mountains

מֵאַיִן יָבֹא עֶזְרִי

Me’ayin yavo ezri

From where will my help come?

עֶזְרִי מֵעִם יְיָ

Ezri me’im YHWH

My help comes from YHWH

עֹשֵׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ

Oseh shamayim va’aretz

Maker of heaven and earth

אַל יִתֵּן לַמּוֹט רַגְלֶךָ

Al yiten lamot raglekha

He will not let your foot stumble

אַל יָנוּם שֹׁמְרֶךָ

Al yanum shomrekha

Your guardian will not slumber

הִנֵּה לֹא יָנוּם וְלֹא יִישָׁן

Hineh lo yanum v’lo yishan

Behold, He neither slumbers nor sleeps

שׁוֹמֵר יִשְׂרָאֵל

Shomer Yisrael

The Guardian of Israel

יְיָ שֹׁמְרֶךָ

YHWH shomrekha

YHWH is your keeper

יְיָ צִלְּךָ עַל יַד יְמִינֶךָ

YHWH tzil’kha al yad y’min’ekha

YHWH is your shade at your right hand

יוֹמָם הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ לֹא יַכֶּכָּה

Yomam ha’shemesh lo yakekha

By day the sun will not strike you

וְיָרֵחַ בַּלָּיְלָה

Ve’yareach ba’laylah

Nor the moon by night

יְיָ יִשְׁמָרְךָ מִכָּל רָע

YHWH yishmorkha mikol ra

YHWH will guard you from all evil

יִשְׁמֹר אֶת נַפְשֶׁךָ

Yishmor et nafshekha

He will guard your soul

יְיָ יִשְׁמָר צֵאתְךָ וּבוֹאֶךָ

YHWH yishmor tzetekha u’vo’ekha

YHWH will guard your going out and your coming in

מֵעַתָּה וְעַד עוֹלָם

Mei’atah v’ad olam

From now and forever

אָבִינוּ שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם

Avinu she’bashamayim

Our Father who is in the heavens

יִתְקַדֵּשׁ שִׁמְךָ

Yitkadesh shimkha

May Your Name be sanctified

תָּבוֹא מַלְכוּתֶךָ

Tavo malkhutekha

May Your Kingdom come

יֵעָשֶׂה רְצוֹנְךָ

Ye’aseh retzonkha

May Your will be done

כְּבַשָּׁמַיִם כֵּן בָּאָרֶץ

K’vashamayim ken ba’aretz

As it is in heaven, so let it be on earth

אֶת לֶחֶם חֻקֵּנוּ תֵּן לָנוּ הַיּוֹם

Et lekhem chukeinu ten lanu hayom

Give us today our daily bread

וּסְלַח לָנוּ עַל חֲטָאֵינוּ

U’selach lanu al chata’einu

And forgive us our sins

כְּפִי שֶׁסוֹלְחִים גַּם אֲנַחְנוּ לַחֹטְאִים לָנוּ

Kefi she’solchim gam anachnu lachot’im lanu

As we also forgive those who sin against us

וְאַל תְּבִיאֵנוּ לִידֵי נִסָּיוֹן

V’al t’vi’einu lidei nisayon

And do not bring us into trial

אֶלָּא הַצִּילֵנוּ מִן הָרָע

Ela hatzileinu min hara

But deliver us from evil

כִּי לְךָ הַמַּמְלָכָה וְהַגְּבוּרָה וְהַתִּפְאֶרֶת

Ki lekha ha’mamlakhah ve’hag’vurah ve’hatif’eret

For Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory

לְעוֹלְמֵי עוֹלָמִים. אָמֵן

L’olmei olamim. Amen
